Elmar Nimmesgern

Before taking over as Secretariat Lead of the Global AMR R&D Hub in 2018 Dr Nimmesgern worked for more than 18 years for the European Commission, thereof four and a half years as Deputy Head of Unit Innovative and Personalised Medicine in Health Research Department. Before he worked five years at Vertex Pharmaceuticals in Cambridge, Massachusetts and led a pre-clinical research team on immunosuppressive agents. He has also done research on molecular chaperones briefly at the University of Munich and at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
