Santiago Ferrer Bazaga
Santiago Ferrer Bazaga holds a PhD in Biological Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Barcelona and has extensive experience in the area of infectious diseases and working with biosafety risk level 3 pathogens. Dr. Ferrer has spent almost his entire career in the pharmaceutical industry in the field of research and development of new antimicrobials. For 6 years he was Head of the Pharmacology Research Centre (biosafety level 3 in vivo studies unit) at GlaxoWellcome in Tres Cantos (Madrid) and then held different responsibilities in the areas of Pharmacology, Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics (PK and PK/PD) at GlaxoSmithKline until June 2020. He is currently Scientific Advisor for Drug Discovery at the University Carlos III of Madrid and member of the coordinating team of the European Regimen Accelerator for Tuberculosis (ERA4TB) project, having participated in the writing of more than 65 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
