Gemma Johnson

Gemma Johnson is a trained molecular microbiologist. Having completed her master’s degree in Genetics at the University of Cambridge, UK, she worked within academia, the NHS, and Public Health England (now UKHSA), focusing on the development of fungal diagnostics. After completing her PhD in the development of novel methods for the diagnosis of invasive pulmonary aspergillosis, Gemma joined OLM Diagnostics as Scientific Director in 2017 and has overseen the growth of the company from a single prototype device to the portfolio of CE-IVD fungal diagnostic products selling across the world today. Gemma and the team at OLM Diagnostics are committed to advocating and educating on the early and appropriate use of fungal diagnostic tests in facilitating the quick and accurate identification of invasive fungal infections, to support the use of appropriate antifungal prescribing.
