John J. S. Cadwell
John J.S. Cadwell is president and CEO of FiberCell Systems Inc. He received his degree in pharmacology from the University of Miami in 1981. He spent an additional year at the University of Nottingham and another year at the National Institute of Medical Research at Mill Hill, U.K.. In 2000 he founded FiberCell Systems Inc., a company specializing in the development and supply of laboratory scale 3-D capillary hollow fiber bioreactors.
FiberCell Systems Inc. is a primary supplier of hollow fiber modules for use in the hollow fiber infection model (HFIM). The HFIM model was developed to precisely mimic human in vivo bioavailability of antibiotic, anti-cancer and anti-viral drugs in a closed, bio-safe, reproducible system. It is endorsed by the European Medicines Agency as a validated method for data generation in drug submissions. He has worked directly with many laboratories to set up and optimize the HFIM around the world.
