Megan Neary

Senior Research Manager for Therapeutics, Wellcome Trust

Megan is a Senior Research Manager for Therapeutics at the Wellcome Trust, within the Vector Control and Therapeutics team of the Infectious Disease program. She oversees projects concerning drug discovery, preclinical and clinical development, and therapeutics access, particularly focusing on antimicrobial resistance and Neglected Tropical Diseases. Her interests lie in advancing drug development to ensure the safe and effective use of therapeutics for neglected populations, with a commitment to implementing these improvements ethically and efficiently in affected regions to ensure that the right therapeutics can reach those who need them the most.
Before joining Wellcome, Megan trained as a Pharmacologist and worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Liverpool. There, she was involved in pre-clinical investigations of novel long-acting therapeutics for treating infectious diseases, such as HIV and tuberculosis, and assessing drug repurposing candidates for SARS-CoV-2.
