Nicola Ivan Lorè
Nicola I. Lorè obtained his PhD degree in Genetic and Biomolecular Sciences from the University of Milan. During his PhD studies, he defined and characterized new experimental murine models to dissect opportunistic pathogens/host interaction during acute and chronic airways infections. As a post-doc fellow, he joined the San Raffaele Scientific (OSR) Institute (Milan, Italy) and worked in the Infection and Cystic Fibrosis Unit. As part of his postdoctoral training at OSR, he collaborated and spent time in international academic research centers, such as the Institut Pasteur de Lille, Tel Aviv University or Wellcome Trust, Centre for Human Genetics. Today he works as project leader in the Emerging Bacterial Pathogens Unit at the San Raffaele Scientific Institute (Milan, Italy). His current research interests are focused on host-pathogen interaction in the lung with particular attention on opportunistic pathogens, such as nontuberculous mycobacteria, NTHi or P. aeruginosa.
