Rienk Pypstra

Dr Rienk Pypstra, Chief Medical Officer and Head of Infectious Diseases at tranScrip, has 30 years of international experience in drug development, specialising in infectious diseases. He has held leadership roles in pharma and biotech, managing development portfolios of antibiotics, antivirals, and antifungals. Rienk has expertise in clinical trials, regulatory interactions, MAA/NDA/BLA submissions, and post-approval processes. He led Pfizer’s OTA with BARDA and played key roles in the Combacte-Care and CARE consortia. Rienk holds a medical degree and MBA from KU Leuven and is licensed to practice in Belgium.
