Scientist, WHO Global TB Programme

Samuel Schumacher works as a Scientist in the ‘Prevention, Diagnosis, Treatment, Care & Innovation unit’ at the WHO Global TB Programme in Geneva. His current focus is on the development of global policies, norms and standards for TB treatment. He previously worked at FIND as Evidence & Policy Lead and as Deputy Head of Tuberculosis, leading development and evaluation of novel TB diagnostics. He has extensive experience in determining priorities for technology development, carrying out large-scale evaluations of their performance, conducting evidence syntheses and supporting global policy development. Samuel holds a MSc in Molecular Biotechnology and a PhD in Epidemiology.
